About Nicola's Freelance Typing Service

Many years experience of assisting in the creation of books

A selection of books I've worked on, given to me by some of the publishers I've worked with

Many years ago, when my daughter was very little, I started taking in typing projects from students at university and college. I used to put postcards in shop windows and my clients came to my house to drop off their work. I enjoyed those early years and after a time came to realise I'd like to expand my work.

This was when Nicola's Freelance Typing Service came into being and eventually, I started putting advertisements in The Writing Magazine to advertise my services. This led to working with authors trying to get their books into print and, whilst working with one particular author, his publisher approached me asking if I could do further work for them, as they'd been very impressed with the quality of my work. This led me to approach other publishers and over the years I've been lucky enough to work with numerous companies, typing up manuscripts. Times have now changed. Although clients occasionally turn up at my house to drop work off and collect it once finished, most projects are now either posted or emailed to me, which has definitely proved to be a more efficient way of working.

I have recently moved after living in the same house for over eighteen and a half years. I now work from a quaint sun room office that has the most amazing views over a Welsh valley!

I've always loved books, have felt privileged to become part of the publishing world and really enjoy my work!
